Careers

Make a difference every day

We are looking for warm, patient, and compassionate people to join our growing team of dementia companions across Florida. If you have a gift for connecting with people — and the patience to let someone move at their own pace — we want to hear from you.

Why join us

What you get working with us

We invest in our companions because we know that the quality of care families receive is entirely dependent on the people we attract and retain.

Meaningful work

Every visit you make matters. You will see the impact directly — a smile, a familiar memory surfaced, a family's relief. This is work that is genuinely felt by the people you support.

Flexible hours

We work around your life. Whether you are looking for a few hours per week or a fuller schedule, we will build something that fits — and adjust it as your circumstances change.

Full training provided

You will complete specialist dementia awareness training before your first visit — and receive ongoing training throughout your time with us. No prior care experience required; we will teach you everything you need.

Competitive pay

We pay above the local market rate for companion care work — because we believe the quality of care we provide is directly linked to how well we look after the people providing it.

Ongoing support

You will have a named coordinator you can always reach. We run regular check-ins, share guidance when situations are challenging, and make sure you never feel like you are figuring things out on your own.

Work close to home

We match companions with people living in their own local area. No long journeys, no unfamiliar neighborhoods. You will build relationships with people nearby — which makes consistency easy to sustain.

Who we hire

What we are looking for

We hire primarily for character — the qualities that cannot be taught. Everything else can be learned. If you recognise yourself in this list, we would love to hear from you.

  • Warm, patient, and genuinely compassionate — you enjoy the company of older people
  • Reliable and consistent — the people you support will depend on you, so showing up matters enormously
  • Calm under pressure — dementia can be unpredictable; you respond with steadiness rather than panic
  • A good listener — you know how to be present without filling every silence
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — dementia care is not about having all the answers
  • Discreet and professional — you treat everything you see and hear as confidential
  • Flexible and adaptable — no two visits are the same, and you find that energising rather than draining
  • Committed to doing things properly — you take pride in your work even when no one is watching

What happens next

Our recruitment process

We keep things straightforward and treat all applicants with the same care we ask our companions to show families.

Application review

We read every application carefully and personally. We aim to respond within three business days. If we think you could be a great fit, we will invite you to an initial phone conversation — not a formal interview, just a chance to learn more about each other.

Introductory conversation

A relaxed call with a member of our team — typically 20 to 30 minutes. We will ask about your background, motivations, and what you are looking for. You will have plenty of opportunity to ask us questions. This is about fit, not interrogation.

Background check & references

All successful applicants must pass an AHCA Level 2 background screening — Florida's highest standard for care workers. We will also check two references. If you have already been cleared, this step is quick. We will guide you through it if not.

Training & first match

Once cleared, you will complete our specialist dementia awareness program — typically a few days, online and flexible. After training, we will introduce you to your first matched person. Your coordinator will be closely available through those early visits.
